Goggle info displays solar efficiency and energy generation
Solar panels can also be picked up with a wrench by shift right clicking just like any other Create blocks.
A simple setup with C&A connectors and accumulator
The solar panels share FE among themselves meaning that huge arrays don't require individual wiring.
Mod compatability
As you can see the cable from Mekanism and LV connector from Immersive Engineering are hooked up to the small solar panel array. They are both drawing power and storing it in the blocks below.

The strength of the signal depends on the solar efficiency value. The noon is when the sun is at it's strongest.
Direct downward energy transfer
Solar panels don't require wiring to transfer energy and can directly inject it into the blocks below.
Where the wires shouldn't go
As you can see, this Mekanism cable although looks connected isn't drawing any power from the panels. This is because energy transfer can only be done from the bottom. Connectors from C&A are exempt from this and will draw power from any side.
